Sidney Miners

Posted by Thomas Bartlett on 27 January 2018

It is with deep regret that I have to advise you that Sid Miners died this morning aged 93

He joined the cricket club back in 1958 and has played or watched them every year since.

Sid first started playing hockey when the hockey club started 50 years ago. Up until October he continued to watch matches every Saturday, standing on the side-lines without socks, whatever the weather.

He leaves behind, me and my 2 brothers, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and an awful lot of colourful memories.

Unconventional as ever, he donated his body to medical science, so there will not be a funeral as such.

We would like to celebrate his life at the club as it was such a huge special place for him.
